The Featured Folder...

... is clean.






Meaning I've removed all submissions to it that are no longer compliant to the new submission guides, with the exception of the first few pages of the archive.

I tried to curate the entire gallery and keep everything in there that would have been eligible for the Featured folder, I really did. But there was just too many... so I mass-deleted everything starting from the oldest submissions and worked my way up to everything I'd curated. Which is pathetically small given the number of hours I plugged into messing around with it...

So! As a reminder, >>>the Featured Folder is ONLY FOR COVER ART and SPLASH ART. Page One's are acceptable if you don't have cover art.<<<  

Thank you in advance for being considerate and adhering to this new rule. It's all for the sake of saving space, I assure you. Don't take it personally, I'm not out to get anyone or stereotype anyone.

I'll be continuing to curate the Featured gallery, so if something's submitted to that folder that doesn't belong there, I'm just going to remove it. Do us both a favor, don't waste your time and save my sanity...

I shouldn't have to explain Page One's, I expect that you can all count... But please remember that Page One's are only to be submitted if you lack a Cover Page.

"But MagusFerox," I can hear you saying, "There's no place for members to submit their individual pages anymore! You've nuked all the General folders!"

Why yes indeed, I have. It's because, in the effort to save space, submitting individual pages is a privilege we're reserving for the group's Contributors. As a member, you're still more than welcome to watch our group, and to submit your Cover Art and Splash Art, but only Contributors who maintain a folder in our group are allowed to submit every page of their comic.

So, how to become a Contributor and gain that right to submit every single page of your wonderful comic?

1)Any deviations with extreme content (gore, sex, hate speech, etc) must have the appropriate filters. Deviations that break this rule will be removed/rejected. Use your best judgement- if you wouldn't mind total strangers catching a quick look at it on your computer, it's probably okay.
2)If a comic series is way too extreme overall or repeatedly violates rule 1 (or any other rule), it may be removed by admins.
3)Troublemakers may be removed from the group by admins. Behave.

4) IMPORTANT- To receive their own dedicated folder, requesters must provide a link to their user gallery showing **FIFTEEN** or more comic pages **of the same project** to receive a new folder. Cover pages count, as long as they are clearly marked as such. Not counted as a comic page: obvious works in progress, concept art, character sheets, partial "teaser" comic pages, anything else obviously not a finished comic page.

...But with the amendment that FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING SPACE, comics that are poor quality or are based around an intellectual property that doesn't belong to you, will be rejected.

There is, sadly, a limit to the number of folders and the number of contributors that a group can have. Thus I have completed Stage One of my cleanup initiative, and am moving onward to the more cringe-worthy portion of my mission... Cleaning out the current contributors and folders to adhere to the new rules, as well. This is all for making room for new quality comics, so old comics can't be "grandfathered" past the new submission guidelines. I feel horrible having to do this. The original WCR admins had a great idea in supplying folders for comic anthologies, but the limits upon a group's capacity set by the DeviantArt admins means that, by the nature of the website's very coding, WCR is going to have to experience a level of exclusivity that the original WCR admins probably didn't plan for. It'd be super great if everyone could have a folder, it'd be more fair-- but it's just not possible, and I'm so sorry for that...

In the upcoming days, I'll have to begin The Culling. *shudder* Comic folders that don't adhere to our new guidelines will be removed. The owners of those comic folders will have to be removed from the ranks of Contributor, which I think the way the DA groups works, will essentially kick that person from the membership roster entirely... PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY REJOIN OUR GROUP AS A MEMBER. I am so SO sorry, it's something I have no control over...

I won't be sending out warnings. I'm being terribly mercenary about it, but it's not up for discussion. If you and your stuff gets removed/demoted and you feel it was done in error, please feel free to send the WCR group a note debating why your comic folder should be reinstated. But unless your reasoning is legit and your stuff got booted because I had a stroke or something, that's not likely to happen. "Why'd you boot my stuff, it's a fan comic but my art's way better than so-and-so's and you kept their folder," is not legit reasoning. "Oh please please please don't remove it, make an exception for me? This is the best I can do, I swear!" is not legit reasoning.  You basically have to point out how and where I messed up and mistook your work for something that it isn't. If it's legit, I'll be happy to fix it. Otherwise, please play fair.

Look at this as an opportunity to strive for improvement. Git good, Contributors. You're now effectively competing against each other for a spot in our galleries... Holy crap I just started the WCR Hunger Games... oh no...
